Re: Megiddo

Gale's eyes widen at Ayn's eyes, but before he can fire a flash of light between them blinds them both, and causes Gale to shrink back. Off all the places to strike, lightning fell between them. Gale could not determine if it was by mere chance or fate that had caused this fight to be extended, but Gale was not about to stand down. The Abbis knew he would die here, it was the fate of everyone else that was trully being determined.
__
The Demon rises as his body if fully formed. He examines what was once his hand, which had not regenerated due to the absorbtion taking place. He snarls once he relizes he cannot replace it, and decides to turn his entire arm into a blade. After the fashioning of a new weapon, he scans the room for prey.

Lara's eyes widen at the summon materia and holds out her hands as a red barrier begins to form. She was unsure if Reflect would work, but it was all she could do at the moment.

Cloud 06-27-2004 04:39 AM

Re: Megiddo

The materia stops suddenly and dissipates, Cloud sighs with his new hoarse voice and turns to Legion. He looks around and senses a strong aura from beyond, and shakes his head after seeing Legion's new 'hand'. "We need to leave here now, Legion." The possesed Cloud turns to Lara and tosses her the remaining shells he had in his belt. "For my hosts' sake, get out of here Abbis. Take the dead girl with you." The demon grinds his teeth together angrily, though the only way he could take total control of his host was to give him the few things he requested. And as circumstances made things far more clear, a green orb shot at Lara from Cloud, breaking to peices and showering her with glittering material, healing any wounds he may have inflicted in the confrontation. "Lets get out of here." Cloud looks about the castle as he leaves casually, taking in everything for what may be the last time his human eyes could look upon the abode of his damned comrade.

Wolf 06-28-2004 07:57 AM

Re: Megiddo

The Dragon-Demon hisses at the Ogre and slashes at it with long claws. It was offended that the creature was thinking about anything else besides her.

Riki watches Cloud in disgust. Dragging her one leg behind her, she moves in front of the door and casually aims the gun at Cloud. "What the hell are you, anyway?"

Cloud 06-28-2004 03:50 PM

Re: Megiddo

Cloud looks her over and yawns, placing his hand on the gun's barrel and muttering 'Firaga', the gun bursts into flames. "I am that I am." A smile spreads across his face as he puts his hand out to Riki's face and a green light, followed by a forceful explosion shoves her through the door. He was careful not to hurt her anymore than was needed. He walked through the doors and looked down at the girl. His voice regained it's human qualities and he spoke. "Please... look after my son." Cloud knew she may not know what or who he was talking about, but she would soon see. She was Rose's biological mother, after all. With his final words spoken, he looks at the battle-worn castle again. "Be there for me..." Cloud's hoarse voice crept back into his throat after the final thoughts. He grinned at her before walking away, disappearing in the foggy daybreak.

Janus 06-28-2004 04:26 PM

Re: Megiddo

Hayate doesn't respond to Cloud's attack on Riki, noting that the attack did not seem particulary powerful, and that Cloud seemed somewhat.. different

Lara... take Riki, would you? Keep her safe. I'm going to stick around, see what happens.

He throws the Murasame to Lara and smiles wanly

Give that to her, while you're there. I'll be back for it.

With that, he turns the chair around so he can get a good view of the shattered sky and sighs quietly

Wolf 06-28-2004 08:20 PM

Re: Megiddo

Riki's knocked unconcious by the blast, which would probably end up being more of a blessing in the end-minus the agonizing headache she'd have when she wakes.

Rikalenna snarls at the two beasts, her fangs showing wickedly long. She casts a glance at Hayate, her eyes warning him to run or to help her.

Janus 06-29-2004 12:18 PM

Re: Megiddo

Hayate dosen't seem to even notice Rikalenna, but in fairly short order, flaring purple lightning courses over the ogre-demon, while the ground beneath it starts to make worrying crunching noises, as if something is being compressed beneath it.

In the meantime, Hayate digs out a book from one of the standing bookshelves and begins flicking through it

Gale 07-01-2004 09:48 PM

Re: Megiddo

The bull rushes Rikalenna, not letting up it's attack.

Lara sighs and takes Riki with Bianca body as she looks at Hayate. "Very will, but I'm coming back to help Ayn." Lara notices something moving rapidly toward Hayate, and quickly exits.

Utterly ignoring Cloud's command, Legion lands infront of Hayate with a serious of flips. He left hand glows red as his right arm is now a blade like weapon (think Carnage). The Demon grins from ear to ear. "You look strong, let's play!"

Wolf 07-02-2004 08:37 AM

Re: Megiddo

The Dragon-Demon lunges forward, meeting the Bull and tackling it to the ground. Rikalenna bites into the Bull's shoulder, her teeth inches away from the thing's heart.

Janus 07-02-2004 04:11 PM

Re: Megiddo

Hayate looks up from his book for a moment, raising an eyebrow.
When he speaks, his soft voice can be clearly heard despite the din of the Dragon/Demon and Bull Demon fighting

Some of us have better things to to than play around with demons. Go back to your master, and let the grown-ups get on with what they're doing.

Gale 07-02-2004 07:20 PM

Re: Megiddo

The Bull roars, now feeling the pain of Rikalenna's blow. It bucks and shakes it's head, trying to throw the beast off.

Legion goes into a fit of laughter. "Oh but there's nothing better to do than play now. You see, we won when that foolish girl ran off on her own. Soon the sky will shatter and we can kill her, than BAM! It's all over!"

Wolf 07-03-2004 09:13 AM

Re: Megiddo

Rikalenna trashes and moves her head to the Bull's neck. She sinks her teeth in deep in its throat. The Bull's erratic movements break her bones and slash through her skin. She feels her spine shatter, but the Dragon-Demon does not let go of her deadly hold on the beast. She digs her teeth in deeper, cutting off air.

((And I'm on vacation for two weeks. Gale, please check your PMs!))

Re: Megiddo

"....Am I dead?"

It makes sense to her. Everything in her field of vision is a bright white; she feels a calm warmth throughout her body, and more importantly, her pain is gone. She can vaguely hear someone speaking, although it is impossible to determine the voice's owner, or even if it is male or female. All she knows is that it's coming from somewhere ahead.

Her hands feel numb as she pushes against the ground, forcing herself to a standing position. A sharp tingling sensation shoots up and down her back. Pain. So she's not dead. Slightly disoriented after this realization (she had accepted her fate, after all), Ayn starts moving towards whatever it was in front of her in small yet steady steps.

After a moment of this slow forward movement, she stops and her hands shoot out in front of her, palms outstretched. The white in front of her eyes clears, moving to her hands in the same blinding intensity. Once free from her hands it seems to move outward in front of her. The light expands momentarily before starting to shrink at an incredible rate.

Ayn blinks. The light had shrunk dramatically; it had apparently surrounded Gale and closed in on him, and what was left of it was the tiny dot hovering in front of his chest. After a few seconds it dissipates as well.

((Forgive me for taking so long to post x_x))

Gale 07-03-2004 01:53 PM

Re: Megiddo

In an instant the red cracks in the sky begin to disappear. The concentration required to pull the world apart had ceased for a moment. Gale examines himself and then raises an eyebrow at Ayn. "If that's your best," Gale said cooley as Sin turned into a blade. "Your best wasn't good enough!"

The wind changes and Gale dashes towards Ayn with Sin posed to finish Ayn once and for all. ...But the blow never comes. Instead, only meters away Gale is standing in place, eyes-wide. Sin slips out of his fingers as his aura strengthens, as if fighting something. "What...what the hell is this?" As Gale's dark purple aura pulses, strands of white begin to appears, lacing itself through his aura. The Holy begins to rip through Gale's dark aura, replacing the darkness with white. Gale clutches his head in agony and screams. "What have you done?!"

Gale screams in rage and begins to draw dark energy to himself. The Castle shakes and parts begin to crumble. The traps set in the halls disappear and one of the bookshelves in the library disappears to reveal a secret room of gold. All the magic and seals return to the one who cast them, enpowering his aura with darkness. Gale outstreaches his hand, his dark aura pouring itself into his palm. "I'll kill you!" The energy forms into a orb of dark energy strong enough to warp out the colors of the valley around it. Gale smiles as he prepares to fire the orb, but veins of Holy again lace itself throughout the sphere of magic. Gale's eyes go wide again as his own attack explodes in his face, throwing him backwards.

The Abbis tries to rise from the ground, his aura now completely consumed by Holy. The blood-soaked Abbis tries to look toward Ayn, his breaths growing weaker and less frequent as he clutches his heart.
"How...She's only..human...I..should of.." Gale falls forward and crashes to the ground, leaving the battle field silent except for his desperate gasps for air.
__
The Bull roars in agony and makes a few more weak attempts to attack before crashing to the library floor. With a final moan, the demon dies.

Re: Megiddo

Ch. 8- "Revelations"

"Well done, Ayn." He had remained unnoticed until this point, now stepping out from behind the very slab of rock Ayn had been leaning against moments before. "You've stopped the untimely Apocalypse, bare-handed. What an amazing feat for such a small human." Rand chuckles. "Unfortunately, you fail to realize the monstrosity of what you've done." He waves Ray of Light, and in a bright blue light he creates a portal leading back to the library.

Ayn snarls. "You're next, you scrawny coward."
_________

The ogre-demon lets out one final roar before disappearing through the newly opened portal.

((Those of you who are left, feel free to hop through the portal. The battle's won but the war ain't over yet.))

Janus 07-03-2004 02:37 PM

Re: Megiddo

Hayate smiles at Legion as the portal opens into the library.

Hm. Looks like we might just have time. Where better for a bit of exercise than a crumbling castle?

He stretches out an arm, and a ball of crackling dark magic appears. In a blink of an eye, it elongates into a staff of pure darkness, with purple-white lighning cracking down it's length every now and then. He uses it to lever himself off of the chair, and puts the book back where it came from. Finally, he actually turns to Legion and points the staff at him

This should be fun.

Gale 07-04-2004 01:29 AM

Re: Megiddo

Legion smirks but notices the portal open and whines. "Aw, too bad. Seems I'm wanted elsewhere. I'd say see you, but I really doubt that'll happen. Ta!" Legion flips backwards and sprints for the portal.
__
Voices...were people speaking? Gale wasn't sure anymore. He wasn't dead, not yet anyway. However, Gale had long lost the ability to move, or do anything at all. All he could really feel was this sharp pain in his heart that was sapping away his life. Gale made a quiet murmer that was inaudiable to anyone but himself. "Laena..."

Ayn 07-04-2004 01:09 PM

Re: Megiddo

Whether her image was just a figment of Gale's imagination or a genuine wandering spirit remains a mystery, but nevertheless Laena appears, as if on cue, and kneels down next to Gale. Her expression is one of pain, for the both of them and the cruel fate they shared.
____

Rand appears to be having difficulty holding back his amusement with the entire situation."Little Ayn, you would not be trying to start a fight if you knew what kind of a monster you really are." A genuine grin spreads across his face. The ogre-demon, which had returned to its sphere consistency, hops in his hand and he places it in his pocket.

Ayn sighs, obviously annoyed. "All right then, Professor I-Am-All-Knowing, just what the hell are you getting at?"

Janus 07-04-2004 01:27 PM

Re: Megiddo

Tut tut, we're not done here. It's just plain rude to run after you've spent all this time trying to get me to fight...

With a smirk and hand gesture from it's owner, the magical staff becomes an arc of darkness scything towards Legion's knees. Sure, he might still get through, but it never hu~ well, it's never a problem to try.

Cloud 07-05-2004 12:57 AM

Re: Megiddo

Cloud, still looking tattered and battle-worn, appears through the portal. He walks to Rands side, sighing dully as he passes Legion and Hayate. He looked as if he were under a trance, his eyes were total black, from the whites to the pupils, solid black. He had a smug grin and had his sword out, holding it over his shoulder in his usual relaxed stance. The situation aroused a certain curiosity in his gut, and he awaited any orders from his master.

Gale 07-05-2004 02:22 PM

Re: Megiddo

Gale seems to relax slightly with Laena's 'presence' but cannot find the strength to turn and look at her, if she was even really there. Gale continues to speak in a voice quieter than a whisper. "I'm sorry....I failed, just like..you said I would." Gale continues gasping for air, the pain in his chest was growing unbearable. "After...looking at all the things...I did for this.. I don't...blame people for..looking at me..the way they do. Still, I don't...feel guilty...for the Angels..or Jekin and anyone else. It was..justified. I..accept what I've become..and all my choices...I won't apologize for..any of them.

Gale goes quiet for a few moment, diving deeper into his memories as life slipped away. "...Laena, in the time...we were togtherer...did I even tell you how I felt? That I really did love you? ...No...I was never one...to say what he should of when he..had the chance. I'm sorry I never...told you that.. Do you think...we could ever be together again somehow..? I want..." Gale begins to trail off before going completely silent. His breaths are becoming less frequent and his vision was slipping with his sense of reality.
__
Legion crashes to the floor and slides across the cold marble. The Demon sneers as his legs regenerate and he turns to Hayate. The Demon now smiles. "Alright then, let's play." Legion charges Hayate, his blade arm extended.

Re: Megiddo

((OOC: Iwillnotmakeanylongerposts. Iwillnotmakeanylongerposts. Iwillnotmakeanylongerposts. I promise.))

As Legion charges, Hayate changes. In the time it takes Legion to cover the distance, Hayate's trenchcoat seems to shrink, the arms fold into the main body of the coat, and then the main part of the coat lifts out behind him, crumpling into two distinct wing-like structures.
...
He leisurely starts moving to the side and stretching out his arm towards the reliatively slow moving Legion as the transformation continues.
...
The wing-structures extend slightly before the wings themselves form fully, a look of satisfaction coming across Hayate's face.
...
The onrushing Legion connects with Hayate's outstretched palm for and instant and then Legion~
---

Demon, there's something I want to show you.

Imagine standing in a void.
Above and below you, two impeneterable walls of cloud seem to stretch on to infinity. Ahead of you a tiny point of light, the size of a grape, is visible. when looked at very closely, 7 smaller points and numerous smaller ones become barely visible, relefcting the light of the larger body.
Above, within the cloud, thunder rumbles for a moment and lightning can be seen to play across the sky. A break in the cloud opens, what appears like sunlight pours through as a single spark falls from the upper layer into the suffocating fog below

Chaos is all there is. What no-one seems to understand is that all that changes, causes Chaos, entropy. When Chaos is intoduced into a system, it's fate is sealed. As anything can change anything, and entropy must always increase, unless your little heaven and hell are frozen tableaux for eternity.. well. Don't blame me

Imagine standing in that void.
Imagine looking at one of those tiny specks, at the beauty of the little blue-green pinhead.
Imagine understanding that the very dynamics that make it so wonderful, are that which spells it's doom. Imagine knowing that the ball of flame brining the life is a process that spreads worthless energy afar, sealing it's fate. And then know there are billions more of these, untold millions of civilisations all somehow ekeing out a pitiful excistence here and there. Know that the fall of the proud one that was witnessed a moment ago set in place a sequence of events that will end both Heaven and Hell.

Imagine standing just above a wild ocean with a dull grey fog lying above it.
You look closely and see a small blue-green orb caught in just between the stormy sea and the dull fog, always seeming to be slipping towards the sea but always being caught by an upgust just before it is swallowed by a terminal wave. It never reaches the upper level either, always being winged by the tip of a wave before it enters the unshifting fog.

Beautiful, isn't it? The constant interplay between dynamic Chaos and the stasis of pure Order, but the one simple law states that Chaos wins. But it's not all bad now, is it? Look at the differences here. Order has nothing to offer, but Chaos... it brings ultimate end, true, but look at it from the other side. It brings life, encourages growth and beauty and provides experience.

See the Earth caught between two forces, old as time itself, that constantly bicker over it's ownership. Know that one day, the ocean will claim it's prize, but before it does, it will grant blessings upon the fragile orb maybe enough to let those on it escape from it's inevitable end

See Legion in a collapsing castle. See the castle in the country it resides.
See the country as part of a continent. See the continent on the ever shifting Earth.
See the Earth drift arount the Sun in it's continual orbit. See the Sun move in it's arm of the Galaxy. See the Arm swing around the core of the Galaxy
See the Galaxy move as part of the Local Group. See the Local Group move towards a supercluster.
See that supercluster and thousands of others in a web-like lattice, with the endless clouds above and below.
See the Universe and all that resides within as a marble held in the hand of the Messenger of Chaos
See a rain of those dark marbles behind him, dropped from the hands of a greater being lurking behind him, obscured in shadow, holding millions upon millions of them in it's immense hands
Watch as the falling ones shatter when they hit the floor, or implode into nothingness.

That's what I find most funny about those who seek immortality. It doesn't exist. Ever. Nothing is infinite. But, the tiny changes you make in the fabric of existence will pervade, possibly changing the destiny of another Universe in the future. Who knows? That's why it's Chaos, after all.

See the Universe. See the Superclusters. See the Supercluster. See the Local Group. See the Galaxy. See the Sun. See the Earth. See the continent. See the county. See the castle. See the impact of Legion's face upon the palm of Hayate's hand

---

~is hit by the ball of Hayate's palm slamming into his face.

Re: Megiddo

Upon contact the ground bellow Hayate and Legion buckles and splits as Legion is sent backwards, blood splattering on his attacker. The Demon collides with a bookcase and breaks it apart, sending books and pages to the floor.

After a few moments of inactivity, Legion rises with an enraged howl.
"You're stronger than I thought, 'Messenger'*. Unfortunately, not even you can destroy me. I'm a celestial being!" With a snarl Legion holds out his claw and creates a growing green orb of energy.

((*= Legion doesn't know anything about Hayate (I gather he's from some other alternate world or something like that) but from that last attack I imagine he could assume that Hayate's a 'Messenger' (as that was listed as his race) since they'd probally exist in this world too. If you have a problem with this, Janus, I'll edit it.))

Janus 07-06-2004 12:24 PM

Re: Megiddo

((That's fine. Hayate's got a rather messed-up past, but yeah. He'd be the Messenger of Chaos. Not an Angel or Demon, but somewhere inbetween))

Now now, no need to get techy, 'celestial being'. I'm just playing, as you asked me to. But the best thing is you won't get conformation or denial of what I said until it happens. And look at that energy ball. Can't you just see the grim fingers of Chaos speading, grasping you, waiting to show you the end of all things?

But your regeneration is terribly interesting... I wonder how far it can be pushed?

He laughs in a rather worrying way and a dark orb blinks into existence in his palm, characteristice purple-white lightning arcing over the surface

Gale 07-07-2004 12:33 AM

Re: Megiddo

"Farther than your stamina, I assure you. Watch closely." The orb turns to a glass like state and is soon being balanced on Legion's index finger. "Tell me, Messenger, what are the odds of an Abbissian hag carrying a corpse and an unconscious demon surviving a surprise attack? I'd say their odds are low, how about you?" The Demon grins, his glass orb begins to glow with a lighter green light.

Janus 07-07-2004 04:46 PM

Re: Megiddo

Hayate smiles at the Demon and his little toy, the kind of smile that indicates it's owner is in full control of his faculties and most certainly will not be using excessive violence in the coming few moments, and walks over to look at the orb. After taking a good look at it, he shrugs, stands up and begins to walk away

I'd say you're so worried I'll actually fight you, you have to resort to petty threats. How terribly childish. You're a mature... thing, I thought you actually wanted to fight. You're actually starting to bore me.

With blinding speed, he leaps into the air over Legion's head before grabbing his neck with one hand and pressing the searing magical orb lightly against the back of his neck

With an ego your size, I'm sure you are the kind of... thing that would enjoy a good fight against someone who's quite sure in their superiority. So. Which one of us is the most justified in our beleifs? And who's going to be looking at a good dirt nap?

Gale 07-08-2004 04:11 PM

Re: Megiddo

((EDITED FOR FUTURE CONVENIENCE))

Legion rolls his eyes. "You're so serious, it's really boring. Well, if it's a fight you want, Messenger, then follow me!" Legion snaps his neck backwards in an impossible way to explode the orb in Hayate and his own face. Though injured by the blast, he manages to move away and dive through the portal, as he had intended to.

Ayn 07-08-2004 11:06 PM

Re: Megiddo

There's a long pause, then in a quiet and gentle voice she starts singing, as if to calm Gale and lull him into sleep.

"Con te partirò.
Paesi che non ho mai
veduto e vissuto con te,
adesso si li vivrò,
Con te partirò
su navi per mari
che, io lo so,
no, no, non esistono più,
con te io li vivrò..."

And then there is silence.
_______

"Very well." Rand seems particularly smug with his hands buried in the pockets of his overcoat and a nastily eerie gleam in his red eye. "I should have expected no less than for you not to know anything about yourself.

"Thousands of years ago the prophet Joerin wrote that the daughter of two great races will assume the mortal form of Gaia. As she grows she will gain abilities far more powerful than either of the races she is composed of combined." He smirks. "You should have realized that you are not entirely human when the Siren's poison failed to kill you, Ayn. Do you know what your other race is?"

She snarls.

Rand laughs. "Such a child.. That's to be expected, as you're the equivalent of a five-year old. Ayn, you are half Abbis. Your mother was human, and your father was Abbis." His grin grows wider. "And that's not all.

"Very few Abbis survived after the Angels nearly obliterated the race. The Abbis were.. advancing too quickly, so to speak." He starts walking towards Ayn. "So advanced, in fact, an Abbis by the name of Gin was able to split himself into three- one to reflect the good, the evil, and the neutral.

"All three of these men went on to have families. The neutral, who is referred to as just Gin, the Avalons.. I believe the Avalon you knew died only recently, correct? Evil, the Onaravs... And the good.." He smirks. "Ayn, do you understand what I'm getting at?"

Ayn stares at him.

"Yes, that's right. The Abbis known as Good Gin, or G. Gin for short, was your father. You understand then, why you're a monster." He gestures back at Gale. "You've just killed, nay, brutally murdered, your own brother."

Gale 07-08-2004 11:44 PM

Re: Megiddo

Suddenly, Legion appears through the portal, his eyes on Rand and Ayn. When he notices the look on the girl's face, he immeadiately frowns. "You told her when I wasn't here?! Damnit! I missed it!" The Demon decides to continue pouting, as Rand is in far too good a mood from his current emotional victory to harm him for it.

Ayn 07-09-2004 12:05 AM

Re: Megiddo

She stares blankly in front of her, reality slipping from her vision, hearing nothing else but Rands voice echoing this awful new realization of what she's done. "You thought you had lost all that was left of your family.. And then with your very own hands you killed the very last link to whatever family you still might have had.. You ARE a monster, Ayn.."

She drops to her knees, not really sensing the loss of balance, and staring down at the ground. Her voice is tiny and helpless; she was a child again at the mercy of Rand. "V..Vorrei morir.."

"What's that?" He leans in closer towards Ayn. "What was that I heard? You know.. you and your sister never spoke a word of Italian.. It's Abbissian. Your father requested it be taught to you.."

She speaks again, her voice still small. "Vorrei morir.."

"You want to die, hm? I'm sure that can be arranged." He draws Ray of Light, which giggles in glee and squirms in his hand. With a snap of the fingers in his free hand, the sword straightens to a normal consistency. He raises it with a large smirk; his plans were going exactly as he had hoped- Rand thrusts Ray of Light forward, stabbing Ayn.

Ayn lets out an ear-splitting shriek, not necessarily in physical pain but for her own frusturation and mental agony.

Cloud 07-09-2004 12:15 AM

Re: Megiddo

Cloud looks on as his former best friends sister gets stabbed. The scream Ayn lets out shatters his soul and he begins to grow tears in his eyes. Though just as suddenly as Rand stabbed her, Cloud jumped into the air, his eyes regaining color and the doomsday comming out of his eyes in tears as he brings the sword down across Rand's back. "This isn't going any further, you monster."

Gale 07-09-2004 12:29 AM

Re: Megiddo

Lara looks up from the place she had sat down to rest outside the castle. Fear clutched her heart when she realized it was Ayn who was screaming. She looks at Riki and frowns. "I'm sorry...I'll be back soon!" Lara jumps into the air and flies down into the valley bellow.

After a few moments of flying, she spots Rand and the fallen Ayn. The Abbis snarls and lands near Ayn. "What the hell are you doing?!"

Ayn 07-09-2004 12:43 AM

Re: Megiddo

Ayn moans slightly in pain, clutching the wound in her stomach and writhing. Bright red blood covers her hands and arms and pools on the ground beneath her.

Rand takes the blow, not really seeming to notice it. "I am carrying out what I have planned for years, Abbis." He tosses Ray of Light in the air, it convulses slightly before hurling itself at Cloud's throat. "It will only be a matter of minutes before this world as we know it ends, and I can create my own."

Cloud 07-09-2004 12:46 AM

Re: Megiddo

Cloud puts the flat side of his Buster infront of his head and neck and is nocked back by the force of the blow. He backflips and his sword clashes with Ray of Light, surprisingly not pushing it back with the swords mass or his own. He slashes at it again, trying to put more weight into the cuts before using any excessive energy or materia.

Janus 07-09-2004 02:35 PM

Re: Megiddo

Hayate emerges from the portal, with a bloodied face and his now semingly usual worryingly calm grin. Minor things like Ayn lying in a pool of blood don't seem to worry him particulary, as purple lightning ripples down his arm and forms into a rough sphere in his hand.

Legion, Legion, Legion. Did no-one ever teach you manners?

He laughs a particulary worrying laugh and sends the lightning out towards the Demon.

Gale 07-09-2004 06:16 PM

Re: Megiddo

Legion snarls at Hayate and jumps backwards to avoid the blast and sends a beam of green energy towards him. "You don't know when to give up, do you?!"

Lara runs over to Ayn and tries to help her. "My God...are you ok? Ayn!"

Ayn 07-09-2004 11:01 PM

Re: Megiddo

Ray of Light shudders slightly upon impact, then assumes a rubber-like consistency as it wraps itself around Cloud's sword, giggling madly. It attempts to break the sword by constricting itself around repeatedly with increasing strength.

Rand laughs cruelly. "Your attempts are in vain, Abbis. Ayn has accepted death as her punishment for what she's done."

There seems to be truth in his words, already Ayn has stopped writhing and is lying still, staring blankly in front of her. Her breaths are ragged but steady, and her hands have drooped away from the wound letting blood flow freely.

Lara ignores Rand and continues to try to help Ayn. "Ayn, listen to me. We need your help. Whatever BS this guys been feeding you doesn't matter. If you let yourself die then you're just letting this guy get his way! Do you really want that? To let all the friends you've made die? We need you Ayn!"

Legion's blast slams into the arm Hayate put up to block it and collapses into a ball which he bats away neatly, leaving a fair-sized charred hole in the arm

Give up? My dear boy, we've barely even started! We'll make the sky rain blood!

He starts walking towards Legion in a strange swaying walk, as if there's all the time in the world.

Recant thy sins, o' Demon! Embrace the light of the Saviour! Get on your knees and beg for absolution!

He laughs in a particulary insane manner and idly waves a finger in the air; it leaves a trail of blazing light behind it which Hayate uses to writes his name in the air with.

Ayn's gaze shifts to Lara, and despite the blood seeping from her mouth, she speaks clearly, in Abbissian.

"Merito questo. Ho assassinato il mio fratello e la mia sorella è guasto a causa di me.." She looks away. "Il mondo non può vivere come questo, quando Gaia è il sinner che è."
